TRANS II - Overview
The majority of pressure transient tests are run to diagnose well performance and Reservoir Description Services has created features in TRANS II to make the job easier.
TRANS II offers free format data import, interactive estimates of reservoir parameters, deliverability analysis and gradient survey graphing.
Up to ten data sets with more than 100,000 points each can be simultaneously graphed and analyzed. "Smart" graphics speed processing for large data sets. Analysis plots from multiple gauge sets, and or analysis periods (build-ups, drawdowns) can be graphed on the same plot.
After the data has been entered the transient periods are defined graphically and the rate history can be modified via a spreadsheet interface. Rate history can be entered in real date and time.
TRANS II can be used to analyze drawdowns, build-ups, gas, oil or water. The user can either enter PVT data or use the PVT calculation engine in the program. Gas is analyzed using pressure or pseudo pressure.
The log-log diagnostic plot is used to determine initial estimates of well and reservoir parameters from each of the flow regimes. Specialized plots, such as the Superposition and Cartesian plots, are used to check results. A multi-rate model is generated and graphed with the measured data to confirm the analysis. A non-linear regression routine is available to quickly find the combination of model parameters that give the representative pressure response.
Once the model has been generated it can be presented on all of the analysis plots, not just the log-log, plot. Pressure History Simulation is included.
An analysis assistant is available to help the user step through a test design or analysis.
Surface pressure is easily converted to bottomhole pressure using a "Cullender and Smith" routine. The user can either import and convert an entire ASCII file, or convert data entered within the program.
TRANS II also gives the user the ability to exchange information between other Windows programs through the clipboard. This makes it easy to generate custom reports using your favorite word processor or spreadsheet.
An Automatic Report
Processor sends data and graphs to EXCEL templates so you can create and modify any report
style as well as annotate plots.
